Program Description
Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services. A program that prepares individuals to apply the theory and principles of guidance and counseling to the provision of support for the personal, social, educational, and vocational development of students, and the organizing of guidance services within elementary, middle and secondary educational institutions. Includes instruction in legal and professional requirements, therapeutic counselor intervention, vocational counseling, and related sociological and psychological foundations.

Admission Requirements
GPA: 2.75
A master's degree in counseling, psychology, human development, education, special education, social
work, or any other mental health field is required to qualify for the certificate program.
The GRE is not required.
Successful completion of an interview is required. Contact department to set up interview date and time.

Students without a current Minnesota Educator License: CEEP 361, ED 647, HURL 597, HURL 598.
