Program Description
The Digital Humanities Graduate Certificate is intended to accompany a Master's Degree or to enhance a Bachelor's Degree in any of the humanities. The learning outcomes for the program come from job postings in Digital Humanities that also require a degree in one of the humanities disciplines. The program contains two humanities- and two technically based 500-level courses. Digital Humanities is a set of methods associated with humanities projects and scholarship. Centers for Digital Humanities exist around the country and the world. Digital Humanists curate--using both historical and "born-digital" documents--online collections, conduct data mining, engage in transcribing and encoding texts for research purposes and on-line publication, create digital exhibits for museums, archives, libraries, and governments, and create crowd-sourcing projects.
